Etsy Shop Now Open!

Big news! After weeks of planning, rebranding, and making art in my spare time, I finally got enough momentum to get my etsy shop, Our Little Playhouse, back up and running again! Although I previously mentioned that I wasn’t sure if I would be able to reopen this year, with a bit of faith and willpower I made it happen. (Honestly, it truly is amazing what you can accomplish when you set your mind to it.)

Our Little Playhouse is a dream project that has taken me over ten years to bring to fruition. With a love for all things paper and spreading joy through art and simple words, I hope to help parents and caregivers make special memories for children by offering paper goods to celebrate life’s sweet moments.  I also want to help teachers and educators make their classrooms a nurturing and support space for their students to learn and thrive with uplifting positive affirmations and decorative wall art.

You see, I’ve always wanted to make inspirational art and stationery , but I never thought my art style was the right fit for this kind of work. Sprinkle that with imposter syndrome and years of procrastination, the idea for Our Little Playhouse was shelved back into the recesses of my mind where hopes go to die. Fortunately, this dream never did. Instead, it remained a weak but persistent flame, never losing its glow.

And now it’s a reality!

There’s still plenty of products I want to add to the shop, but I’ll create more over time. I’d also love to have your feedback for the kinds of stationery you’d like to see in Our Little Playhouse, too. So, when you have the time, please give it a look and tell me what you think!

Until next time, talk soon, dear reader!

A Pet Bandana for Black History Month

A few weeks ago, Blue Buffalo approached me to create this month’s pet bandana celebrating Black History Month, and I gladly obliged.

As a lover of patterns, I wanted to create a fun and festive design that honors black heritage with our favorite four-legged companions. Inspired by the colors red, black, green, and yellow because of their rich symbolism, I used these colors primarily throughout the bandana’s design.

The colors Red to represent the history, Black for our shared identity, Green for the connection to Mother Earth, and Yellow for the prosperity of African diaspora, were pivotal for honoring black history. And marigold as the background, of course, because it’s one of my favorite colors.

A huge thanks to Blue Buffalo for entrusting me to design this bandana. I sincerely hope pet lovers enjoy it as much as me and my dog, Gracie, do!
